![]() I’ll continue to avoid mods since I can not trust Blizzard to not place another ban on my account. There is no way for any online interaction or code modification. ![]() The mod that I originally referenced only interacted with character and shared stash files when the game is closed completely and the files only exist locally for off-line characters. As far as I know that strike against me is still in my account records and there is no way to redress the issue. ![]() That news comes courtesy of game producer. If you are correct then the ban that was placed on my account was unwarranted. Worry not, adventurers, because it turns out those old saves will work perfectly with Diablo 2: Resurrected, letting you pick up right where you left off. Something like Cheat Engine isn’t allowed because it modifies game memory. Even with those programs there’s protections in place by Blizzard, trying to circumvent those protections is illegal.Īs for character/stash editing with a hero editor program or modding the inventory/stash (to be bigger for example), that’s fine. To put it simply: hardcode edits are 100% impossible to do by accident, you need specialized software like decompilers and hex editors and whatnot. There’s mods already that do things like increase stash/inventory/cube size, as long as you don’t try to join a multiplayer game with modded files you’re fine. No, that’d be a softcode edit and it’s safe.
